Meet Our Doctors
Charlie Kung MD
Born in Los Angeles, CA Dr. Kung spent the majority of his childhood in Taiwan. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in biochemistry and went on to attend Wayne State University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Kung finished his internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Arizona in 2018.
Dr. Kung has worked in the hospital setting as a hospitalist for the past five years. From this experience it has become Dr. Kung’s goal to work together with patients to prevent hospitalization and disease exacerbation. He is passionate about the care of his patients and believes working in the primary care setting is where he can make the biggest difference in his community.
Dr. Kung enjoys spending free time with his wife and daughter. He is an avid foodie and loves to explore the varying sights that Arizona has to offer.

Matthew Powell MD
Dr Powell is board certified in family medicine. At Linfield College, he graduated with Honors in Health Sciences. He received his medical degree from La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and went on to residency at HonorHealth Osborn in Scottsdale. Dr Powell has several years’ experience in hospital medicine, urgent care and teaching resident physicians and medical students alike. His special interests include sports medicine and diabetes management.
His interests outside of medicine include spending time with his wife and three children. They enjoy all things outdoors together including snowboarding, swimming, and camping. He enjoys running and playing music from an ever-expanding guitar collection.
